About Me & Why I Blog

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Here, you will find the story of my family. Our struggles, past, present and possibly future, but you will also find our strength as we pull together and become closer every day. You will read about our wins, losses (or as I prefer to call them, "bumps in the road") and what has worked or not worked for our particular challenges. And there are many!

This is a safe place for people who want to express their challenges and methods of healing. So please feel free to comment and share. Sharing information is a great way to help others, and that is my hearts desire. That is why I started this blog.

Finding Our New NormalBefore I jump in to writing about our journey, let me introduce myself and my family. We are a family of 4, a husband and wife with 2 daughters (1 is a teenager and the other a pre-teen). We have a cat, dog, several fish, an aquatic frog and the newest addition to our family, a guinea pig. We live in a beautiful home with lots of bells and whistles (our previous home was older then me and needed many repairs!). By old fashioned standards, we are the "average" American middle-class family with 2 kids. However, we are ANYTHING BUT AVERAGE. In our wonderful family of 4, we face daily challenges with Irritable Bowl Syndrome, Insulin Resistance, High Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Trichotillomania, Food Allergies, and the more "average" (there is that word again) problems like High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol.

There are many difficulties with having children that need a lot of extra care and have special needs in diet, medication, time, emotional support or whatever. I work part-time for somebody else and homeschool our 2 beautiful girls as well as have 1 side business and now, I have started this blog in hopes to help other people/families like us. As most parents, I often feel like a juggler in a circus act that is spinning way too many plates at once! Having children (or any family member you care for) with more demadning needs, sometimes it feels like there is not enough of you to spin all those plates! (I wouldn't change it for the world though.)

In a nutshell, we are a close, happy family who love each other, love God, love others, feel blessed to live where we do and have a ton of amazing people in our lives that pray for us and keep us going. Without God and them, we could not do this! If you are reading this and are one of the many people who have prayed for us, supported us with hugs and encouraging words, answered one of the many questions I have asked either personally or on social media, THANK YOU! You are all amazing!

Again, welcome to our story. I hope you stick around for the ride!

Till Next Time,
Rebecca & The Gang
